What is a Christian?
- A Christian is an individual who has placed their trust in
God and is now in a loving and personal relationship with Jesus
Christ!
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus
is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
What should a Christian
look like?
- A Christian is in love with their God!
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and
greatest commandment." (Matthew 22:37-38)
- A Christian obeys the word of God!
"Whoever has
my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me."
(John 14:21)
- A Christian loves other Christians!
"A new command I give you: Love one
another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
(John 13:34)
- A Christian loves to tell others about their faith!
"Day after day, in the temple courts and
from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the
good news that Jesus is the Christ." (Acts 5:42)
Please note that this page is not
intended to be an exhaustive outline all of what we believe the
scriptures teach! For a more thorough treatment, please feel free to
read the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.
Our ultimate authority in all matters
of faith and practice is the Bible alone. However, we have adopted the Baptist
Confession
of Faith of 1689
as an accurate summary of what we believe the Bible teaches. This is
not an inspired document but is helpful
for assistance
in controversy, confirmation in faith and edification in righteousness. |
